Introduction

Undergraduate Honors Program of Engineering

◎Features
This is an interdisciplinary program which enrolls the elite students from the College of Engineering and the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Its curriculum design adopts the concept of “Retardant Tracking”. It means that the students of the program are not divided into certain department in the first year. Instead, they can take any courses of the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, the Department of Computer and Communication Engineering, and the Department of Electronic Engineering according to their own interests. After gaining a broad knowledge, they have to select one professional field out of the three departments to major in in the second year. The students will obtain the Bachelor degree in the field they choose when they graduate. This kind of curriculum design gives freshmen a year to get acquainted with each department and helps them make a right choice.

◎Curriculum Design
The students of the program are not divided into certain department in the first year. The curriculum design for freshmen emphasizes on the basic courses of mechanical and automation engineering, computer and communication engineering, and electronic engineering. School provides specific basic and core courses for the elite students. Also, they can take the basic courses of other disciplines as the elective courses. In the second year, the students have to choose a certain professional field to major in until they graduate.

◎Teachers
Our teachers are specialized in mechanical and automation engineering, computer and communication engineering, and electronic engineering. Currently we have 56 full-time teachers including 13 professors, 21 associate professors, and 22 assistant professors. They are very competent teachers. All of them have doctor’s degree and have rich teaching and practical experiences.
